About Bhopal
Bhopal famous for its natural and artificial lakes is the fourteenth largest city in India. Bhopal splits into two starkly contrasting cityscapes. North side of the city is Muslim dominated area, constructed with fascinating mosques and mainly crowded bazaars and the women in Black niqabs (veils). The north side also reminds us of the tragedy of Bhopal gas disaster when pesticide manufacturing plant leaked the mixture of deadly harmful gases. The south aspect of the city is modern, astonishing malls, wide roads and upmarket hotels and restaurants. The ‘Newmarket’ known as the heart of Bhopal.
Bhopal is the home of many educational institutions and research centres such as BHEL, ISRO and Master Control Facility; having the largest numbers of Institutes of National Importance in India are IISER, MANIT, SPA, AIIMS and NLIU.
Culture: Bhopal is the fusion land of Hindus and Muslim, this fusion is also reflected in their cuisine. The people stay in Bhopal commonly known as ‘Bhopali’s’. The specialty of this city is keemas, Rogan Gosh, Korma, Pulaos, Spicy achar gost and much more. No food can end with Deseret, Bhopal i’s have their seasonal fruit and have their own local form of liquor called Sulfi- made from the flowers of Mahua trees.
